Blogging in Alyssaland

  • Posted on December 28, 2012 at 7:50 pm

Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am a recovering blogger about to relapse.

No need to call anyone.

CONFESSION:  For all my snark, wit, brilliance and extreme modesty lately I find myself compassionate  um empathetic  a gigantic simpy softie. Yet, reluctant in mustering the authenticity in revealing myself fully.

Particularly in this blog.

So we have a conundrum, and an explanation for the sparseness of entries in 2012, the best writing is real, raw, and revealing.

Oddly, I possess zero concern when telling a humorous quip thus embarrassing myself; yet retract at the possibility of wearing my heart of my sleeve.
Terrified of being judged.

Terrified of pissing you (the person reading this off).

#suchbullshit

What?  I do not always have to be funny.

Hmmm….

Additionally, my “thinking in blog” is out of practice.  I can tweet or status update about my seeming inability to dress myself but those incidents do not a blog make.

Fret not; consider this me catapulting off the wagon willing to expose all aspects of Alyssaland.

On a bright note, tomorrow night Recently Single Girl (RSG) and I will be hitting a local dive bar for karaoke.  More to come.

I might be rusty to bear with me.

Until then…..

Smooches!

You and I have had disagreement, and I take 100% ownership of my own interest and sensibilities. Underneath it all, I have full respect for anyone who hangs herself out in front of the world to be poked at, mocked and pelted with unsolicited advice.

It’s an experience I had with the nonprofit I founded. While there was plenty to criticize about the how, what and why, there was no one else with their ass on the line. For every 1 person who does put their ass on the line, there are 1000 people TALKING about what they would do “if only …”

There are times when I am deeply embarrassed about something and then forgive myself for having had a sincere commitment that turned sideways BUT it was a real action that had a real result.

ONWARD, Alyssa! Take the fukkin’ gloves off. Do your thang. If I get rubbed the wrong way by something in adventuresinalyssaland, that’s on me. I do think that, as artists and content producers, we do have to think about our audiences and be responsible for what we create. We shouldn’t be cavalier and selfish but we do have to be genuine. So, I respect that you’re genuine and pulling out the stops.

    Let’s make it happen sistah!
