Ten years ago on this day, I was living another life working in Chicago for a super large commercial theatre and a second job managing the hit Over the Tavern.
#overemployedandunderpaid.
Oh, did you think I actually knew what I was doing on this very day on February 8, 2012?
I am not smurfing Rain Man.
Sorry nothing memorable happened that day. That I recall, that is. As I think about it I don’t actually recall the actual dates of major life events like graduating from college, the opening night of The Producers (with Nathan and Matthew) or the day I won the cruise. Oddly, I remember dates of mundane occurrences vividly. I had to remind myself of the last part because I started to worry about early onslaught Alzheimer’s.
Bringing me to the point, I wanna bitch slap the girl I was ten years ago.
Why?
She eats whatever she wants and never gains weight. Nor does she exercise.
She lives in the city and works two jobs. When she hits the town she patronizes dives to rival Bar Fly.
She lives in a 450 square foot apartment in a posh neighborhood.
She doesn’t pay for cable because she has a thirteen inch television.
She uses AOL via dial-up modem.
She never makes coffee at home because she lacks the counter space.
She does not understand how awesome she is; yet, her arrogance renders her unapproachable.
While envying her metabolism I laugh at her.
What were you like 10 years ago?
Smooches!!
